Precourt Pioneering Projects
- Tackle urgent and important problems in energy
- Support undeveloped research areas, targeted call, focused area
- Build strong collaborative team, 3-4 faculty members
- Nucleate/build initiative/cross-campus collaboration of programs
- Attract vast new funding
- $450,000 – per project, for 2 years
Bits & Watts Initiative Seed Grants
- Start new projects/test new/high-risk ideas
- Broad and focused areas relevant to the electric grid
- Encourage faculty to test new research ideas
- Gain results to apply for follow-on funding from other sources
- $100,000-$200,000 per project, for up to 2 years
StorageX Initiative Seed Grants
- Start new projects/test new/high risk ideas
- Broad and focused areas in energy storage
- Encourage faculty new to research in energy storage
- Gain results to apply for follow-on funding from other sources
- $50,000-$100,000 per project, for up to 2 years
TomKat Solutions
- Support faculty, students, and staff.
- Funding to enable the development of rapidly deployable solutions to urgent problems in energy and the environment.
- Program helps teams move their solutions from ideation to deployment.
- 3 phased funding based on milestones and deliverables.
TomKat Center Innovation Transfer Program
- Support faculty, students and staff
- Initiate the commercialization of impactful Stanford sustainable energy innovations
- Develop advanced working prototypes, conduct customer and market trials, and refine business plans over a period of 3-12 months.
