Precourt Pioneering Projects

- Tackle urgent and important problems in energy

- Support undeveloped research areas

- Targeted call, focused area

- Build strong collaborative team, 3-4 faculty members

- Nucleate/build initiative/cross-campus collaboration of programs

- Attract vast new funding

- $450,000 – per project, for 2 years

Precourt Institute for Energy Seed Grants

- Encourage faculty new to energy research

- Gain results to obtain follow-on funding from other sources

- $100,000-$200,000 per project, for up to 2 years

Strategic Energy Research Consortium

- Teams of >2 faculty

- Broad and targeted areas defined by SEA

- Industrially relevant research

- Obtain follow-on funding

- Calls every 2/3 years

- Funded 6 projects in 2021

- $500,000 – $1.5M per project, for 3 years

 

Bits & Watts Initiative Seed Grants

TomKat Center Innovation Transfer Program

- Initiate the commercialization of impactful Stanford sustainable energy innovations

- Develop advanced working prototypes, conduct customer and market trials, and refine business plans over a period of 3-12 months.

- Grants up to $50,000 (possibility of supplementary funding)

TomKat Graduate Fellowships for Translational Research

-Support advanced doctoral students (third year and beyond)

-Support the development of applied research that has the potential to address sustainable energy and sustainable resource utilization challenges

-Stipend and tuition for up to 2 years
