Public Opinion

Public opinion and politics are important to energy policy, deployment of sustainable technology and change in energy-related behavior. Research topics at Stanford include deliberative polling, which explores how people's opinions would change if they were more informed; surveys of public beliefs about global warming and energy-policy preferences; identifying critical changes in public opinion regarding energy-efficient technologies and their adoption; and the politics of regulating electric utilities the siting of major energy projects.
