Visiting Stanford

Helpful information in planning your travel to Stanford University is provided below.

General Information regarding Stanford University such as campus tours, transportation, maps, and directions to campus is provided by our Visitor Information Center. Disability access information and resources are provided by Stanford's Diversity and Access Office.

Airports

Three major airports serve the San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco International (SFO) and San Jose Mineta International (SJC). Stanford is roughly equidistant from the San Francisco and San Jose airports. Although San Francisco is the largest of the two airports and offers the most airlines and flights, some visitors find that San Jose’s smaller size makes it a somewhat more convenient alternative, especially for domestic flights.
