Stanford Climate Ventures is led by three Precourt Energy Scholars with decades of energy technology, business, and policy expertise:
David Danielson is the managing director of Breakthrough Energy Ventures and the former assistant secretary of energy efficiency and renewable energy at the U.S. Department of Energy under President Obama.
Joel Moxley is a Precourt Energy Scholar and Adjunct Professor at Stanford University. He currently teaches Stanford Climate Ventures (ENERGY 203). Joel received his B.S.E in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute for Technology. He is a partner at Echelon Capital and a member of the investment team of Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
Jane Woodward is a founder and Managing Partner at MAP Energy and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University where she has taught classes on energy and environment since 1991. Jane is an advisor and director for several energy transition companies and funds. Jane received her B.A. in Geological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and holds an M.S. in Applied Earth Science and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
