Finance & Subsidies

Stanford researchers are studying the impacts of federal support for R&D for clean-energy technologies in the United States and the impact of  financial subsidies on the development of renewables and fossil fuels. One research group is looking at ways to enhance the investor appeal of solar, wind and other renewables in the U.S., while others are conducting comparative analyses of energy financing and subsidies in Germany, China and other countries. Several faculty members study the role of California as a leader in renewable energy, including efforts to streamline the state's energy program.
