AI offers enormous potential for a sustainable future, leveraging the vast amount of data in the energy system to optimize everything from battery management to changing energy markets to grid operation and planning. But this intellectual power comes at the cost of electrical power, and lots of it. The rapid growth of AI requires a wide swath of electric and technology industries to swiftly develop strategies to meet this new demand to maintain, even enhance, the reliability, sustainability, and affordability of electricity for all.

The Powering AI Innovation Forum on November 5, 2025 will bring together leaders from utilities, IT companies, data center developers, academia, and beyond to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities of this new form of industrial revolution. The workshop will also formally launch a new flagship program of the Bits & Watts Initiative on Sustainably Powering AI.
