San Diego Community Power is a coalition of people focused on moving towards a healthier and sustainable clean energy future. Their goal is to manage their community's electricity supply, taking advantage of the affordable, common sense options available for cleaner power, today and for future generations. This seminar will discuss how local government start-ups are decarbonizing California’s power grid.

As California continues to experience the impacts of climate change, utilities are taking action to build a more climate-resilient energy network. Utilities in California face an increasing amount of risk due to extreme weather events driven by climate change including heat waves, more frequent and extreme storms and wildfires, drought, subsidence, and rising sea levels.

Clean energy, environmental justice, and social equity are at a critical juncture in the United States. All Americans should share in the benefits of the energy transition regardless of income, race, ethnicity, gender, and geographic location. These benefits include sustainable energy technologies, new job opportunities, healthier people, and a healthier planet. At this year’s tenth U.S. C3E Women in Clean Energy Symposium and Awards, thought leaders will discuss the latest advances in the energy transition, this year’s U.N.
