Jennifer is a scientist with more than a decade's experience in identifying research needs in energy and shaping the Global Climate and Energy Project's (GCEP) research portfolio. She now leads the seed grant programs within the Precourt Institute for Energy, working with the Directors of Precourt and the Strategic Energy Alliance to foster energy research at Stanford. Jennifer is a technical recource for energy related projects across the University and advisor in the bioenergy area. Prior to joining GCEP in 2007, she was a post-doctoral scholar at the Carnegie Institution for Science, Department of Plant Biology, and Stanford University, working on plant cell wall polysaccharides and biomass related projects. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of York, U.K. and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (First Class Honors) from the University of Stirling, U.K.
