Esther Choi, SFI Research Fellow, will discuss her research on blended finance. Blended finance is defined as the strategic use of public and philanthropy finance to crowd-in private sector financing that would otherwise not be available to projects with high-climate impact. As a structuring mechanism, blended finance has been receiving a highly concerted and renewed focus as a catalytic tool to mobilize the volume of finance needed to secure decarbonization pathways, particularly in developing and emerging countries.
